Sporting Braga vs Benfica Match Preview
SL Benfica will play host to SC Braga in an all-Portugese UEFA Europa League first leg on Thursday.
Somewhat surprisingly, this is the first time Portugese teams have played each other at any stage of a UEFA club competition. This game will also mark the first Europa League semi-final between two teams from the same nation.
Benfica will carry a six game European unbeaten streak into this game, while Braga come in on a three game winless streak having advanced through the quarter-finals on away goals.
KEY PLAYERS
Pablo Aimar (Benfica) – With Salvio injured, the Argentine playmaker will be a key figure joining the attack from midfield.
Lima (Braga) – The Brazilian striker has struggled so far with one goal in six Europa League games this season. If he can find his form and net a valuable away goal it will be a huge boost to his sides chances of making the final.
